Building of the multi-purpose town hall started in January of 2004 in accordance with the project "The Architectural Atelier Hržić" d.o.o. from Zagreb, on the base of the project from 2002. The company "Lavčević - inženjering" d.o.o. from Split was authorized to perform building. The multi-purpose town hall was finished in October 2008.
The reinforced concrete cupola of 135,12m in diameter and 26,82m high is the basic form and construction of the hall (only the church St Donat and this hall are important buildings in Zadar of the round shape).
The main multi-purpose hall and four polyvalent halls are projected for performing sports, cultural and entertainment events.
