Multi-purpose sports hall is the center of sports in Zadar where new sports history of our city is being written. The construction started in January of 2004 in accordance with the project of "The Architectural Atelier Hržić" d.o.o. from Zagreb. The construction was performed by the company "Lavčević - inženjering" d.o.o. from Split. It was finished in October 2008.

Shortly after the completion, on 3rd October 2008 the hall is officially declared the Hall of Krešimir Ćosić, before the match of NLB League between Zadar and Split.

The Hall is a circular arena. Under its dome of diameter 135.12 m and a height of 26.82 m there are one central hall and four smaller.

In all five halls may take place basketball, handball, and indoor soccer games, and be organized various sports tournaments (tennis, darts) and championships.

 

It is a modern building in which the athletes play their matches with pleasure, and viewers have a pleasant stay and enjoy the sports spectacles in such an environment. In addition to the hall on the north side is located a parking with 450 spaces for cars and 300 more on the south side.

 

The hall has four main entrances, A, B, C and D, located in the southwest direction (AD) and northeast (BC) to which you have a spacious stairs.  Through these main entrances you can enter into the circular lobby, which surrounds the tribunes.

The spectators can enter on the tribunes trough 12 entrances located above the circular auditorium that rises above the playing court. In addition to these 12 entrances there are two passages which climb to the tribunes.

 

There are 6503 setting places on the tribunes. Along the playing court there are also four telescopic stands, which can then be pulled out and pulled in; one on each side of the world.

VIP and press telescopic stands have another 264 seats, a front telescopic stands called "family VIP", that during the basketball games are behind the baskets, have 408 seats each. In certain situations, if necessary, additionally 150 VIP chairs can be placed on the parquet floor, along the play ground.

 

Above the center of the field hangs the main scoreboard. It weighs 3 tons; its 4 LED panels are 6.3 m wide and 3.2 m high. It’s a product of "Tehnovision" where viewers during the match, with the usual information about the score and time that has elapsed, can view images of some parts of the game, and is also used as an advertising space. In addition to the main scoreboard, there are two auxiliary, located on the east and the west side, of size 6 x 2.5 m.

The quality and strength of sound in the hall guarantees 14 "ICF" active loudspeakers with power of 1500 W each, that are located on the service pathway of the dome, at a height of 17 m. Audio and video contents as part of the sports spectacle are managed by the computer from the control room on the west tribune.

 

The play field, which is dominated by the blue border, has an area of 1000 m2, where, as already was noted above, may be used for handball, basketball, tennis and other sports events. It is possible to enter on the play field through four main entrances: VIP and press entrances, entrances for the judges and for the players.

 

Under the tribunes on the north side are located: eight locker rooms for players, first aid room, anti doping room, and three locker rooms for the referees. Under the tribunes on the south side are located: eight locker rooms for players, 4 locker rooms for the referees, 6 rooms for different purposes, warm up room and reception desk.

 

Below the A and D stands in the south there is a large press center, while the VIP saloon is on the north side. Journalists may follow the matches near the play field or from the press stands which can be complemented with the folding tables. The primary technology for sending reports is wireless internet.
